Most commercial spaces were wired long before smartphones, tablets, and USB-C devices became standard equipment. The result? Not enough places to plug in, and zero built-in USB charging. It's a small problem that creates real frustration for employees and clients every single day.

We handled an outlet upgrade at a commercial building where the goal was simple - bring the power setup in line with how people actually use technology today. That meant swapping out existing outlets and installing new ones that include built-in USB ports alongside standard plugs. No more adapters, no more fighting over wall space.

Here's what goes into a job like this. Before anything gets installed, we're looking at the existing wiring inside the box - checking connections, making sure everything is properly terminated, and confirming the setup is safe before we move forward. That step matters a lot. Skipping it is how problems get buried behind a wall instead of fixed.

The finished installation includes a combination outlet with dual USB ports paired with a standard duplex outlet - all on a clean, flush double-gang plate. It's a practical upgrade that adds real daily value without requiring any major electrical work. We also installed a fresh 20-amp duplex outlet separately, giving the space added capacity right where it's needed.

Whether it's a straightforward outlet installation, adding USB functionality to an existing location, or a more involved wiring job, this is the kind of work we do regularly. Commercial spaces have specific demands, and getting the electrical right is what keeps everything running smoothly.
